Hi.

I have problem with my wifi. I can't connect to a specific network(can connect to others). I can connect to that network fine from other computer. This happened before, couldn't connect to this network for like a month and then it fixed itself somehow and it worked fine until now. I've tried release and renew but it didn't help, when renewing it said that cant my dhcp server for new ip. Tried searching web for solution but didnt find anything usefull, so help me out please ;)

p.s. added ipconfig screen

Have you tried turning your router on and off, leaving it for 30 seconds?

Hope this helps,

Harry

I cant really do that, because it's a public network and i have no access to router :D but if it was routers fault it shouldn't work on the other computer also, no?

I'm at home, but use public network. Haven't changed anything in firewall settings so dunno if that could be the problem. I also tried turning firewall off, but it didn't help.

Hi there...

If I may jump in...

Can you please re-post the ipconfig/all, it's not showing up on your initial post?

For now, try removing all the wireless profiles stored in your network then re-connect to the SSID of your choice with the correct pass-phrase.

It does DHCP has been enabled, have you checked you are obtaining a IP address from the DHCP server?

Start :orb: > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Centre > Change Adapter Settings (left pane) > Right-Click Current Connection > Properties > Double-Click TCP/IPv4

Post a screenshot of the configuration please.

You will have one IP address for all networks when you set up a Static IP address as suggested, when are obtaining a IP address from the DHCP server, you are getting given a random IP address at every boot.

Follow the tutorial suggested by 2xg, and please post back your results.

edaz - find a working computer connected to your router or your network then run ipconfig /all. You will use the pattern of the output and assign it in your computer, but you'll have to change the last digit of the TCP/IP. Here's a different Tutorial, perhaps it might help you understand better.
Setting a Static IP Address in Windows 7 - PortForward.com

If you still can't follow the Tutorial, please post the ipconfig/all output coming from another working computer and we'll help you with the Static IP assignment.

Follow 2xg's tutorial, but if that doesn't work, I have another suggestion with the Firewall settings. Since the DHCP server, uses UDP/67 and UDP/68 ports, then make sure these ports are allowed access through your Windows Firewall, this can be achieved with this tutorial:

How to Open a Port in the Windows 7 Firewall
