Unidentified Network

Wanted XP but had to go with Windows 7!

Unidentified Network - No Network Access.

This machine needs to run on a private network only, NO DHCP, NO DNS, Fixed IP with another device on the network that has a builtin web-Server with fixed IP.

This configuration works on any XP machine I have used.

Have tried multiple setup configs with no success.

You using IPv6 or IPv4? homegroup or workgroup? Subnet mask set correctly? dows it see the other devices? Ping?

Go to a command prompt and type

ipconfig /all > sf.txt

upload sf.txt to this forum

IPv4, tried both homegroup & workgroup, Subnet mask Ok, appears to see it and regesters as an Unidentified Network (Public Network), ping works fine.

I'm not to sure what you are trying to do but this tutorial shows you how to change it from a public to a private network.
