Good morning.

I have no use for itunes and the same for Quicktime. Trying to unclog my pc. My teen had installed these when she used my laptop.

HP Pavilion dv7 laptop, 64 bit, OS: Windows 7 Home Edition. Antivirus: "Mcafee Total Protection" After uninstall of itunes almost complete:

“Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\8584cc48.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory.”

Same prompt when trying to uninstall QuickTime7. Thanks kindly for any advice.

Don't know how far in you got with the uninstall and may have to reinstall for this to work but
I use IOBit Uninstaller and it gets rid of all remnants.

Thanks very much and thank you for your service! (My only son joining army this week)
It appeared I only had 30 seconds to go on the uninstall when the error message appeared.

Proud to do it. Hope your son is in for a culture shock. You know this military saying:
50 Years Of Tradition Unhampered By Progress.
As I stated, and I know it may sound silly, but sometimes one has to completely reinstall the program
before you can get rid of it as, if partially uninstalled, it won't show up in my app or W7 Add or Remove
Programs.
Good luck.

I installed the free IObit uninstall program just fine, set a restore point as reminded, and easily uninstalled the memory-gobbling programs, and some others unwanted too. It was user-friendly, with a few pop up ads to be expected. Can't thank you enough, and I can appreciate your thoughts on my son's Army adventure that awaits. He seems to be all-in and I've done a lot to challenge his awareness, to make him better-informed. Still, you said it- major shock awaits him. Thanks again for steppin' up and helping out a frustrated guy ! If anyone in your sphere needs support in family stress/divorce/poor communications/no good plan in the parenting arena, that's my expertise. Best to you in the new year.
