Hi all, I have installed windows mail on my windows 7 and worked great!
Now i have reversed the procedure to unistall windows mail from windows 7 and reinstalled the windows 7 mail folder to get it back to original, that also worked great.
BUT I had put a windows mail short cut on my desktop which was still there.
I opened it and BAM i was receiving emails through windows mail (which I did not want to happen).
I deleted the short cut.
Now there is a windows mail icon on bottom right corner of screen that I cannot open or delete or anything.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

No I did it manually by right click properties and took over permissions etc.
Lol looks like I did it the hard way!

Oh well you did it anyway.:)

It sure sounds like you haven't uninstalled it. How about if you uninstall it and don't put the other one back yet, Then run CCleaner to clean it up on the registry tab, If you don't have it here's the link CCleaner - Home then restart. and see if that gets rid of it.

Yes it`s back to the way I want it. We have 3 computers in the house and we view our email on our ISP so windows mail was not a good option. I installed it only to see if it worked as I had a friend that wanted it back on their computer running win7. (Last time i use my computer for a testing ground)
Thanks again

You have to right click to open command in "Run as adminisrator" then OK, Then type sfc /scannow, then enter. It will take a few minutes to finish.
