I have a acer 4745g laptop installed with windows seven, however there is one driver missing with a yellow question mark on the device manager, PCI Simple Communications Controller. According to unknown device identifier it shows the chip as, intel 5 series/3400 series chipset family HECI controller. The device ID is as follows, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B64&SUBSYS_03571025&REV_06. Where can I get this driver?

That's usually referring to the HECI drivers, or Intel Management Engine. I was able to find a bunch of links to the drivers by googling it, but here's a forum post with a link to them on Dell's site. Usually, Intel drivers work on any Intel board, regardless of whoever the OEM is.

thanks for the replies... may I ask what is the importance of the PCI Simple Communication
Controller? As it is right now I don't see anything wrong with my laptop...? Does enabling it really makes a difference?

@theog - thanks for the link but acer doesn't have the driver, the files on the website are the same as the ones that came with acer support DVD...
