Unknown UPnP port

Hi Damob,

I'm glad you've managed to prevent the issue by disabling SSDP, however we haven't found the route cause. I still have my suspicions it's to do with Teredo.
You can disable teredo using the netsh command:

netsh
interface
teredo
set state disabled

If you set that and then start the SSDP service does the issue persist? If not then I think we found the culprit.

Hi There DC187,

Well here's the funny thing I have restarted both services and rebooted, and low and behold .. nothing , zilch nada is popping up on the router now !!

The only thing that I have done since last night is to disable homegroups and remove the libraries from explorer, so the two services for homegroups are disable atm.

I will re enable those 2 services either later on tonight or tomorrow morning. (right now I have a humongous piece of steak that is begging me you cook it

I will update later , not on the steak tho, you probably don't want to know/care !!

Update :

Ahh that was a pucker steak, on a bed of rocket salad, new potatoes and a side of Lincolnshire sausages.. Yummy. I would have saved you a bit DC but I couldn't figure out how to get it through UPnP and past my firewall

Oh and other news...

Re enabled everything : homegroup discovery and listening services, SSDP (I haven't re activated the homegroup and joined it as I don't want to go through setting up my folder permission again)

And so far there are no ports being opened on my router via UPnP, so what ever it was it doesn't seem to be coming back.
I will monitor it for a day and see what happens.

I think you could be onto something regarding teredo, but at this rate we will never know !
