So, I just built a new pc after the motherboard on my old machine died.
I just built it yesterday and have been updating/installing everything. After doing some windows updates I restarted the pc and there was a windows user profile "vmdvidwvky"
so far no one else has used this pc and I do not recognize this name at all. I have gone into control panel and deleted the profile but then it will reappear on the next boot. I googled this and haven't found any similar problems. My anti virus is up to date and I have done a scan to make sure there are no viruses. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of this happening and could give me some advice how to get rid of this.

Thanks,
Chris

I don't think I have any VMD Movie programs and I don't see anything on the program list similar or searching for vmd in windows. All I've basically done is install windows 7 from scratch updated all of the drivers installed eset smart security and disabled the windows anti virus/firewall. It just seems bizarre that I can't get this other user off of my windows users. It keeps coming back when deleted.

Did you happen to activate the Anti-Theft option in Eset SS? It will create a phantom user account.

ok that makes a lot of sense. I will disable that then since I'm not worried about my desktop getting stolen haha
