Hi folks, bit of a problem. Many years ago I made some videos using a very early VHS camera. Some time later I transferred the videos to a DVDR disc using a DVD player. The player subsequently broke and I now find that I can't play the DVD on my Xbox 360 or PC.
I don't know a huge amount about computers so I looked on the net and downloaded a couple of programmes which seemed to be able to sort the problem, Recover Disc, and Zzip. I seem to have been able to extract the 40 files on the disc to My Documents and they are Disc Image files apparently. So I tried to extract thes files using Zzip and I get an error message saying I can't do this (something about archives which I don't understand).
Has anyone any ideas as to how I can play the videos as they contain a lot of sentimental stuff.
Thanks in advance.

When I open My Documents and click on properties the type of file reads Disc Image File (iso). Does that help?
As you can see my knowledge of computers is sparce so forgive me. Where might I find the format or extension?

Download and install Slysoft's Virtual CloneDrive (freeware)SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive

Mount the ISO on it and check whether you can play it.

Going back to your original problem, you had mentioned that you had used Recover Disk and Zzip.

IsoBuster is another good software to recover from: CD, DVD, BD, HDD, Flash drive, USB stick, media card, SD, SSD, etc., You may download the free version which I presume can recover from difficult DVDs. You may try to extract files from the DVDs in their original format. Read the many tutorials on the website.
Data recovery software for CD / DVD / BD / HD / Flash / USB drive / MMC, SD, Compact

Recover video from (e.g. non-finalised) DVD
