My husbands new computer's logs him off after only a few minutes of idle time. He has to log back in every time. It disconnects him from the internet and the programs lock up.

I have tried everything I know to try to change these settings. Power setting are set to never sleep. There is nothing in the start Menu. HP had some built in stuff, I disabled it, yet it keeps loggin him off, even after just a few minutes idle.
Windows 7 home. HP Elite. Where do I look?

Try this:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/15322-screen-saver-password-protection-enable-disable.html

  1. Right-click an unused part of the desktop
  2. Click Personalization
  3. Click Screen Saver
  4. Click to remove the checkmark from On Resume, display logon screen
  5. Click OK

I assume that what you mean that your husband suddenly finds that he is no longer "online" and needs to log in again ????? If so, it sounds like you have a "flaky" internet connection or a "flaky" modem or router ?????
