Unzipped Files Have The Wrong Date

I noticed something yesterday when I had my computer recovered to factory settings:

If I unzip BSOD files included in the BSOD threads in this forum using Windows, the file dates are set to the date and time when they were unzipped. I typically use 7-zip to unzip those folders, but it was not installed on my laptop after doing the recovery. I know 7-zip maintains the dates of the files within a .zip file; Is there a way to do the same with Windows' built in extractor?

Normally I wouldn't respond to such an old post, but this came up first on my Google search.

1. Save the zip file
2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder with the file.
3. Right click on the zip file, select "Properties"
4. Click on the "Unblock" button.
5. Now when you unzip the file, the file dates will be the original dates, not the current time.

From what I can gather, Microsoft did this so if you receive a malicious zip file, the files will be marked with the time stamp of when you unzipped them.
