Update Failure Windows 7 Service Pack 1

I have been trying to install for months.I have read and been to every online forum ,no love.I lost all my music files some very hard to obtain and classics and of very great sound quality?Years of downloading!!I have encountered pop ups galore and other problems that I can't remember at this moment ,that I suspect is related to this update failure.I am fairly computer illiterate but not a geek so keep it basic if possable.Can anybody help me install this update, it would be greatly appreciated,thank you ,Jim.

Are you wanting to install Windows again or only get an Update installed? This is a tutorial for http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html The Updates should come in automatically. Maybe you could expand on your problem a bit. Thanks,
