OK, so this update just won't go in. I tried dl'ing again and the same problem. Now it's slowing down my star up speeds to like 10min...trying to install this update on start up. How can i get rid of this update???

View windows update > remove updates. Which you probably tried already. I had a similar problem and I was forced to use system restore. You can also try a roll back with system image. Maybe the Win 7 disc, repair. In any event I wish you luck.

Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cmd.exe as admin)
and type

sfc /scannow

If sfc command don't help again run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges and type

slmgr -rearm

wait untill appear pop-up with succesfully making commands and next reboot

If it also fail you have to reactive system
Repair Installation should fix this issue as well
