Update install failure

My Pc is a Dell Inspiron 531, running Windows 7 64 bit. I received the updates available message and clicked install and received an unable to install updates message but no suggested fixes or where to start looking for assistance.

There must have been a lot of updates. I know I have seen reports of problems with upadates when too many were installed at once. I would suggest, as a try, select to install only one or two. If that does not work change the selection. Lets hope that you get lucky and it works.

Many thanks for your suggestion. However, that was one of the first things I tried without success. So looks like back to the drawing board for me.

What update error codes do you get with the failed to install????
Reason i'm asking is that i had a similar problem and I resolved it.

update failure& blue screen appearing wen shutting down

hii, am using dell studio sys...i got the mssge that sys updating during shutting down and a blue error screen appearing. And the sys restarts....After restarting am getting an error report....with address of some temp & dmp files.....can anybody help me....

I think your problem is different from mine as it sounds more serious. My problem was that update downloads would not install. After I posted my question on the forum I received several replies. For me the simplest for me to use was merely trying to install the updates one at a time which I did and it worked. Sorry if this is no help but I am not really tech minded. lamarque
