Its been a while since I was last on here and I should really know the answer to this one but for the life of me I cant so here goes.
I recently had to re-install my system (new HDD etc). I got Win7 up and running no problem. But now it has chosen to update the os. No real problem there until it came to install the service pack. Downloaded the file and set it to install. Everything seemed ok till it rebooted. Windows attempted to continue the install but failed and reset itself to the original settings. Ive tried this several times now and it continues to refuse to install the service pack.
It has now locked itself into a cycle of attempting to install the pack every time I boot - so I have had to disable auto update for now.
Anyone know why its throwing a wobbly - apart from the obvious answer that the download has corrupted? If that is so - where can I locate the download so I can delete it so that it can re-download it?

Not sure if it has any impact on this or not but this is a dual boot machine with Win 10 (which is on a separate drive).

Thanks
Antony

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)
