I installed the new security update this morning(KB977165) and a few seconds after installing successfuly I might add, it popped up again and said it had a new update to be installed, same one. Did this 6 times. All of them were successful, but it must not be recognizing them. What to do. I ran the Windows update reset tool to no success. I do all of my updates manually and have yet to have a problem.

Welcome!

Go to Windows Update>Update History. Is the update listed there, and was it installed successfully?

If so, you can hide the update. Right-click on it and tell it not to show.

If you hide the update, it should not keep asking to to install it.

If you are sure it is installed, go ahead and hide it.

Thanks for the reply guys
I think I'll just hide this update until MS finds an easy way of patching this if it's that critical. I went and saw a tech yesterday at one of our computer outlets and he tried a couple of things without luck and then suggested hiding this too. Will MS come up with an easier way of patching this for the majority of people or are we all on our own? Please let me know if there's anything else I can try besides some of the previous things.
