Hello,

I've been chugging along to update my PC for the last several days. After following multiple posts on this forum, I've gotten through most of my problems - but now I'm stuck with CheckSUR pointing to 9 CSI Manifest errors, and I can't find the files anywhere online to download and place into Temp\CheckSUR\winsxs\Manifests. Log is attached with the CheckSUR log.

Windows Update still has errors installing KB3013531, KB3030377, and KB915597, but these are the last errors that CheckSUR is pointing to so hopefully they'll install without issue after this (knock on wood). Any help would be appreciated!

Hi eoineoin,
Welcome to Sevenforums
I have the last 4, the others are GWX and don't have.
CheckSUR.zip

unzip and place CheckSUR folder in %WinDir%\Temp\ which is C:\Windows\Temp\
and run SURT again

I'll do some searching and see if I can find the gwx kb #

Found the GWX kb extracted manifests. Here is the new zip with all 9 manifests

CheckSUR.zip

If you're still having update failures, please post bolded files. Limit of zips is 4MB. You'll probably have to upload to cloud
C:\Windows\
WindowsUpdate.log
C:\Windows\Logs\
CBS.log

Thank you!

That did the trick for the non-GWX files, and KB3013531 successfully installed (KB3030377 and KB915597 still fail). Still coming up with errors on the GWX files...looks like the filenames don't quite match? I see 6.1.7601.19020 in the filename in the log (tbf, I have no idea if that's a versioning number or what) and the files you sent are 6.1.7601.18846.

Still including those zip files in case that's a red herring. Windows Update is throwing errors 8050800C and 8024200D, if that matters.

Thanks again!

The files for GWX I had to search for. M$ catalog didn't help.
I'll search again for those.
For some unexplained reason, I didn't get an email notice of your post.
It's midnight here in Michigan. I'll work on that in the morning.

Give this a try to uninstall gwx
Uninstall Win10 kb3035583.bat
Then restart your computer.
run SURT again please.

Have a good night.

Sorry for my delayed reply.

The uninstall didn't do it; SUR still complained that it couldn't locate the .gwx files. I ended up doing the repair install, which ended up correcting it. Took a lot of time (five days from the first backup to the finish!) but it's done!

I greatly appreciate your help with all this. Kudos!

Are you saying it took 5 days to do a Repair Install/In Place Upgrade? Even with a backup that is ridiculous!

What do you mean 1st backup. You don't do multiple backups one after the other do you?

Did you read my repair install instructions and run Disk Cleanup very low disk? NO?

I always run disk cleanup very-low-disk before I backup pending Repair Install, which removes a plethora of junk you don't need and the Windows.old that a Repair Install creates is way faster, as is the actual repair install process. I do many Repair Installs, 1/2 hr max. Use Simplix Update Pack for installing updates, maybe another 11/2 hr or so, then run Win Update, maybe another 10-15 minutes. Good to go!

Were you aware that Windows 7 Repair Install creates a backup automatically? Windows.old
