I started out having an issue with Windows Update giving me error #80070002 on Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit), I ran the Windows Update Fixit troubleshooter several times, each time it goes through the motions then when it comes time to click on "Check for Updates", I get the same error. Now I've moved up one on the error, 80070003, tried running sfc /scannow (as administrator) and get Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service, did this both in Safe Mode and regular. Ran SURT and got a couple updates from it, but then back to nothing. Here is the MGADiag Results:

The installation is counterfeit.
The Product Key is from an ACER computer - and the apparent SLIC table in the BIOS has been simulated by a hacker's Activation exploit in an attempt to circumvent activation and validation requirements.

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.

I have contacted the company that I purchased the copy of Windows 7 from to find out what is going on with this. According to their documentation it is a volume activation liscense if that helps any. It is a company called: Sigma Computer Solutions and their Registered Microsoft Partner ID # is 1655497. What is my course of action at this point?

Volume Activation Keys are NOT for sale to the public - and the Key in your report is NOT Volume Key. ( and Ultimate Edition is not sold under Volume License anyhow)

How was this product delivered? - as a Key-by-email + download, or as a packed box with disks etc?
If the latter, you may be able to get a free replacement from MS by filling in the counterfeit forms, and sending the media etc to them for checking.
If the former, your only option is to threaten them with legal sanctions - and fill in the counterfeit report anyhow, as MS will take appropriate action from their end as well.

So far as I'm aware, that was never an official means of distribution of any retail Windows 7 install - which merely confirms the counterfeit nature.
You definitely need to pursue the company for a full refund - but do NOT send the materials back to them until you have received the refund!
