Updates caused computer failure.

Hello, last night I did the 13 required updates for my Windows 7. So, when I awoke this morning, in my attempt to load up into Windows 7 again, it failed, I tried again at least 6 time, and still nothing. It would get to "starting Windows" then go to a Grey screen. Someone please help me. :c Right now I am using Linux to type this all out.

Try booting into Safe Mode through Advanced Boot Options and uninstall all of the updates from yesterday. You could try a system restore point first and if that doesn't work, a manual uninstall.

Once you uninstall the updates, see if the computer will boot normally. If it doesn't (again from Safe Mode) try running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If any problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan (always from within Safe Mode.)

Even if the computer boots normally after uninstalling the updates, I'd still do the SFC just to make sure no system files were damaged or corrupted by the updates.

When it comes time to try reinstalling the updates, do not let Windows Update do it automatically. Turn off automatic updates and try installing just a couple at a time and reboot the computer after each install. That way if an update is causing problems you'll know which group of two was at fault. Uninstall just those two updates and install one at a time, rebooting after each one. They'll either install successfully or you'll pinpoint which is the offending update. Save it for last and continue installing the rest just a couple at a time.
