updates constantly failing and searching for updates takes forever

My updates keep failing and searching for updates takes forever. I have tried a lot of things like:

- run MicrosoftFixit50123
- clean boot with only windows services
- chkdsk /F
- sfc /scannow
- try to install packages manually
- run CheckSUR

and a couple other things I can't remember right now. But still the same issues like before:

Error Code 80073712
Error Code 80070490
Error Code 800B0100

I checked CheckSUR.log and resolved about 40 errors (corrupt / missing manifest files, missing sample files etc.) and now have still 6 left:

I tried to mount windows dvd, but the version of these files do not match and I don't know where to get them from. Also I am not even sure if this will solve my update issues.

Windows updates have been slow for a lot of Windows 7 users ever since Windows 10 was released.
Try rebooting the PC, then install the latest Windows update client. Then reboot the PC again and check for updates. Be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes.

Repair Install will fix your issue(s). saves old setting to windowsold if you wish to revert. saves all your files, folders, pictures, etc. just reinstalls windows. must be same version that is currently on your machine. Do you have win7 DVD?

No I don't have a dvd. I got a Windows Vista Ultimate w/Offer Form OEM Software and an upgrade option to Windows 7 Ultimate. I tried Microsoft website to download ISO, but it says:

The product key you entered is obviously one of software that was preinstalled by the manufacturer. Information about software restore options, device manufacturer.

I think I bought it more than 7 years ago and can't remember who the manufacturer is to contact or if he still in business :-( Any suggestions?

Also noticed my posts have been taken down, probably PM's as well. Trying to resolve issue. May take some time. Not trying to, nor do I wish to do anything illegal, just helpful.

I got a working windows 7 ultimate dvd with SP1 and try to do a repair installation like mentioned before. But unfortunately it will not work because of insufficient disk space. Only got 7GB left on my 60GB partition and have to find some way to get more free space.
All or most of my programs are installed on a different partition and only windows + e.g. nvidia drivers are installed on that 60GB partition. Even after running cleanmgr there is not enough free space - wonder what consumes so much disk space or is windows just that big with all its patches and SP1?

Nevertheless as soon as I managed to run in place update installation i will let you know the result regarding failing patches.

Thanks TrashZone - resize is not working since I do not have any free space after partition for volume C. I tired a commercial tool, where you can distribute free space between two partitions but is tells me it needs exclusive lock and initiates a reboot but then it fails during boot. I have to get in touch with support to see why its not working.

Not sure of the total disk you're using but it looks like you need to get a bigger one
