Hello,

I am unable to install the updates from a long time. I receive a 800B0100 error everytime I try to update.

error.png

I ignored it, made sure that my antivirus is properly updated, definitions to the latest and I exercised extra caution while browsing. But today I have opened the Turn Windows features on or off to see it blank. A quick search revealed that this got something in relation with the updates. Kindly help me resolve this issue.

I've uploaded a file - bb3aa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder bb3aa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Then run another SFC /SCANNOW, and post the new CBS.log file

Thanks for the immediate assistance Noel. The mail went to the spam folder, so I am late. I have downloaded the folder and did exactly as you asked me to. Running the SUR tool, waiting it to complete, and should I attach the new logs as an attachment or in the code wrap directly?

Here we go...

I've uploaded a file - bb3ac.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)

Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\bb3ac
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\bb3ac
or
DIR E:\bb3ac

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\bb3ac <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run another CheckSUR scan, and post the results

I guess the F buttons' functions vary from each manufacturer. I tried the whole bunch of F keys, and all I see is an option to change the boot order and boot devices. So, I used my emergency USB containing the WRE. I gave my password in, and I am allowed to use those recovery options just like we see in the recovery/repair options. But to my surprise, the not found error is all I see even I have exactly. I tried all the names of partitions I have, (4) and it says file not found. Please guide me.

Hmm - let's see what the machine is seeing in the Repair Environment.

In the Repair Environment, run the following commands...
