This is what happens when I try to update Windows 7 via my home NettComm router, connected with an ethernet cable.
"Windows could not search for new updates. An error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer.
CODE 8024402C Unknown error."
As a last ditch desperate measure, I ran the Recovery program, which formatted the C drive and re-installed Windows 7. This meant that none of my programs were there to possibly interfere with the updating procedure. In fact, the computer was in the same state as it had been when I purchased it. Yet it would not find updates.
Then I bought a CD with service Pack 1 for Windows 7, thinking that would correct the problem. It installed OK, then I checked the update history and the service pack was acknowledged. Yet still no more updating was possible.
So I took it back to the store and they could do the updates via a wireless connection to the internet. But when I returned home it would not update, as originally.
I cannot make my connection to the internet wirelessly at home.
This should NOT matter, since all the internet requirements are OK via my ethernet cable.
Any ideas????
