Sorry for all the posts, but I have been having several problems with Win 7 for a while, which I can't figure out.

I have all my Win 7 machines set to Download updates but let me choose whether to install them. Everytime I reboot or shutdown a machine it will still install all the updates.

Any advice?

it is not recommended to not to install critical updates automatically, but if you want to have more options than the standard few,
you can configure deep settings of windows update in the local group policy (do it at your own risk)
to open editor type gpedit.msc in start menu>run/search field
then go to Computer configuration>administrative templates>windows components>Windows update

I agree about having critical updates installed, but I have several machines, and the once that has not been updated are running fine, and the once with the latest updates freeze up. I am just trying to eliminate possibilities.
