PC #2 Would Not awake From Sleep

Correction: I meant PC #1 in this post's title

A few mornings ago, the PC would not awake. A cold boot would not work. Neither would booting from a DVD. Could not get into the BIOS. Nada. Could not not even see what was happening on the monitor. Kept trying stuff, and I think what finally worked was turning off the machine, unplugging the power cord, depressing the power on button, and then plugging the power cord back in and powering it up. The only update I saw that had installed was Windows Defender. I can't think of anything else done to the PC in the 24 hours preceding the problem. I ran powercfg -energy. The results did not mean anything to me, but I have attached them. Everything has been fine since.

No ideas you'll

I guess no one has any ideas for PC #1 not waking up?

We'll all is going well with PC #2. PC #1 is not auto installing important updates though. All seen to be from 10/11/11. Defender is updating, but not other stuff. No errors in the update history.

Did you set the time in Bios after unplugging and hitting the start switch. Doing that set the Bios to default and you will need to reset the time. When you are in the Bios check and see if the boot order is correct, sometimes that will change also.

The PC time is fine. Why did you think it would need to be reset. I thought the CMOS battery took care of that?

I am not following you on how the boot order... oh because I could not even boot from a CD. You are right! Thank you. I do not know if it had changed, but the boot order sure did not have the CD/DVD drive first. I changed that. Thank you again.

And all those updates that had not installed decided to install themselves on the 14th. I did not do a thing (that I know of). I can't explain it yet.

Sometimes when removing the plug and hitting the start button on your computer will put the time back to when it was made.
