Dell 580 running Win 7 64 bit. About 2 or 3 years old.

Started to not update for weeks. Tried all the error message fixes.

Then in a a couple of months after that it started to crash or BSOD.

So I reinstalled Win from the partition.

Get's to a certain point and then hangs. Right now it's installing 41 of 87 and won't go past that. First time I'd tried it was 1 of 194.

It did install some before this latest hang but I can't get into windows.

I'm probably going to try another re-install off the partition.

If that doesn't work, do you think buying a new Windows 7 OS disk would work?

While typing this I restarted while it was in the middle of "Installing 1........" some more installed and then quit.

Tried again and installed 35 but would not install others.

Just installed 35 of 35. Crashed, starting again at 26.

QUESTION
Would reinstalling Win 7 from the Win7 partition make a diff.
Would buying a new Win 7 OS disk make a diff.
Other suggestions?
Hate to take it somewhere to be fixed and then pay $ to have them say they can't fixed it but you owe....

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file
