What is the prefer way of installing drivers, because i just did a clean install and i went ahead to install my drivers. After i finished i went ahead and install windows updates. Now something i noticed was that windows wanted to install the same drivers except much older ones, for example i updated my sound card driver which was released on 6/2/2012 and it wanted to install the ones from 2010, did i do something wrong or should i just ignore it?

Windows update does not always install the latest drivers. If you're experiencing problems, it may be advantageous to go to the manufacturer's site to get the latest driver. For many people, the drivers that Windows provides are more than adequate. I personally, manually search for all the latest ones and install them, myself.

If you've installed the latest driver, refresh Windows Update by hitting "Check for updates" again.

I usually install the OS, the chipset drivers (SM bus), PCI Communication Controller device and USB 3.0 drivers, if needed.
The hardware drivers, then install Windows updates.
