updating program

hey i downloaded an updater software from a essentail windows 7 software collection magazine vol.6 (it is a good mag, helpful), but i'm wondering if i should let it upgrade my system. i have an XP, this message keeps poping up asking if i want to upgrade. (please don't email ur reply as it is busted) thank you

Hello Soulfood,

Personally, I wouldn't let any 3rd party program update my system. There's really no need to when you could do so through Windows Update, and/or just download the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website.

Another option would be - FileHippo.com Update Checker - FileHippo.com .You can set it to check for updates on boot but it will only advise you of updates available, that way you can manually download them when ready.
