I purchased a copy of Windows 7 professional on-line and downloaded the setup file. When I opened it I was told that: 'to upgrade from one version of Windows 7 to another you need to use Windows anytime upgrade' or something to that effect. So I went to windows anytime upgrade and click on 'I have already purchased a copy of windows 7', then I was prompted to enter the upgrade key. I just entered the Product key because as far as I am aware I haven't got an upgrade key.

The upgrade worked so I assumed I had done the right thing. Can any one confirm that the upgrade key is the same as the product key?

Thanks

Yes Anytime Upgrade will take Upgrade version keys, but you can also clean reinstall from retail Product Keys so be sure to save it for life along with your installer.
