I have Vista Ultamate on my son's computer. I am not interested in doing a clean install on his system. If I buy 7 Home can I install it on his system? With Vista I was not able to put anything lower than Ultamate if that was installed on the computer.

Thanks for the help.

You can't upgrade Vista Ultimate to 7 Home Premium. The upgrade disc will require a clean installation and afterwards you will be running Windows 7 Home Premium

I don't think my son needs Ultamate. I just had another copy laying around that is why he has it.
