upgrade to windows 10, keeping onedrive

I want to upgrade to Windows 10. I have already downloaded and installed OneDrive tool and my files are locally stored on my PC. Should I be afraid if I upgrade to Windows 10 those files will be lost and I need to do things again.

I would not trust the cloud.

Are your files on the same hard drive ?

Then be afraid.

Your data should be backed up to a separate device, unplugged whenever you do upgrades, reinstalls, new installs etc.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I would create a system image to a totally separate hard drive well before attempting the upgrade,
For one just in case you just do not like win-10
The system restore back to the previous os is pretty bad.
Second in case the upgrade completely fails or stalls which I've been reading quite a bit of those happening and without a system image your current install is in jeopardy.

If you have a spare hard drive which does not sound like you do
There are many other ways to upgrade,
Which most the time installing win-10 from scratch is recommended
So if you have special software and you don't have activation key for it you should see into retrieving those activation key because at some point some software/ programs might need to be reinstalled.

Upgrading to Win 10 SHOULDN'T effect your OneDrive files. However, to be on the safe side, back them up as suggested. My personal experience, after having upgraded 6-7 machines, has been that none of the files were stored in OneDrive were effected.
