We provide MFC/MDI applications built using both of these tools (Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 and 2005 SP1). Our apps. work fine on Win2K, XP, Vista, and Win7 (clean install), both 32- and 64-bit.

We've noticed that some clients who have upgraded-in-place to Win7 from Vista (32-bit) are reporting that our apps crash on startup. This does not appear to be a problem at all if Win7 was installed cleanly.

Have tried troubleshooting with DLL Dependency Walker, and the Windows Event Viewer, but still haven't diagnosed the problem.

Have other forum members run into this problem? Many thanks.

Hi Father, welcome to the forums.
I probably can't help much but some other members are way better with crash analysis. What I would suggest if you can is to post a dump file from one of the crashes.
Also, was the program installed when upgraded? have they tried uninstall and reinstall to see if it helps?
My best regards to Annabelle :)
