Currently have Vista Home Premium installed on Drive C and Win 7 RC1 installed on Drive F and dual booting. Have not had any problems with Win7 and am considering using it full time until retail version comes out. This will free up my Drive F to use as a back-up drive.
My question is: If I do a clean install of Win7 RC on Drive C (get rid of Vista entirely) will I do one of the following to install the upgrade version of Win7 (cost concerns regarding full version vs upgrade version)?
Reinstall Vista followed by upgrade of Win 7.
Use bootable vista dvd created by Acronis and then install upgrade Win 7. I have not had to use a bootable disk to restore a system so not totally familiar with what it will do.
Whatever I need has been backed up.
Any problems that anyone can think of?
Thanks for any info and ideas

Hello Welcome to SevenForums, hotbowler
This is what I plan on doing. I also have Vista Home Premium installed with a dual boot configuration. I plan to buy a retail version of 7 when it is released and upgrade my vista. The upgrade retail price will be cheaper than a full retail version. Myself I like having vista to use in case something bad happens to 7. Sounds to me like you have a good plan. Lots of good tutorials on this site will help you with installs. Only advice is get familiar with your machines bios if you do not already know about it. Sounds like you need to learn how to set your boot order to boot from dvd. good luck to you and enjoy 7.

Well i am going to be a cheap ******* and stay with the RC until the expiration date.

And i don't really want to reinstall all my programs, and the RC is possible the most stable OS i have used in quite some time.

Thanks. I'll bookmark that tutorial page. I will definitely be upgrading as soon as the freebie Win 7 runs out.
