I have 160 GB western digital 5400 RPM HDD..I want to upgrade it..till what capacity can I upgrade?

Seems Acer in their infinite wisdom (or stupidity, depending on your frame of mind) don't want to list in the specs for that laptop whether the hard drive is SATA or IDE,

everything listed there is exactly the same as what is in the user manual and service guide. That said grab something like this,

Speccy - System Information - Free Download

and it should show whether the drive is SATA or IDE; if it doesn't it should show the model number of it and a quick Google search should get the specs on it. Regardless of IDE or SATA, any 2.5" laptop drive up to pretty much any size should be no problem.

Your budget is going to be the biggest factor. If you have a recent laptop and a decent chipset, you should be able to upgrade to the highest drive you can afford.
