Is the new memory, compatible with the motherboard? I have a Gigabyte motherboard and I'm using memory that is listed as compatible by Gigabyte for my motherboard.

Voltage could be an issue and goes back to compatibility. There are different voltages and memory for the different voltages. Along with what Gigabyte lists, Crucial has a memory configurator that will list what is compatible with your motherboard. www.crucial.com

Avoid the Kingston Value Ram (KVR). Regular Kingston is OK but the KVR can be iffy. I used to do a lot of support on the Dell users forum and we consistently saw problems with the KVR memory.

If what you have is supposed to be certified or compatible with your motherboard, remove one memory module at a time and then test or see if you get the BSOD's. One bad memory module (or bad memory slot on the motherboard) could be the problem.

I see you checked this as fixed. Could you post what the fix was? for us and for others that may view this thread.
