upgrading aspire one

I recently bought an acer aspire one 532h which came with windows 7 starter installed and being an acer version it has an ugly acer log on screen. I've decided to upgrade to W7 prof due to annoying limitations of starter. If i use windows anytime upgrade to do so will the log on screen remain the same? would i have to do a clean install upgrade to change the log on screen to the normal windows version?

No i have that and it works fine, it's the log on screen. Its not the normal windows 7 but an ugly green one that says acer across it. Im upgrading for other reasons than an ugly screen though.

@kkyyllee, you'll have to go in Personalization Settings.

Control Panel=>Personalization=> Change theme and choose as exemple the Windows 7 theme....

Alternatively you can right mouse click anywhere on the desktop, except the Taskbar region or a Shortcut Icon and Personalize is one of the choices which will give you a pick of many Themes an more can be found at Windows 7 Themes .... have fun.

I think it is not the bios screen....but the logon "Acer Green" screen.

Mine, disapeared by magic, five days after in did bought the computer...

I think i went to "screensaver" option and set it to another one, the Acer screensaver was set as default!
Therefore it might have disable aswell the logon screen. Now i have the authentic Windows 7 one + bubbles screen saver on my settings and changed the Acer theme.

If the cost/time taken is not a major concern I would personally recommend that a full re-install is performed rather than an anytime upgrade.

Upgrades are simply more prone to errors over time

Also Dependant on the screen size you may not see the windows 7 startup animation but the Old vista one

If you mean the BIOS screen, NO you can not change.

There is a way but its not for the faint hearted. One would need to open the bios in an editor tool, extract the splash screen/ OEM logo (whatever one wants to change), then replace it with a 16 color bit bmp. The customized bios would then need to be saved (the format can vary) and the computer flashed with it.

As you can see, this procedure is for advanced users only and is risky enough to brick your machine. I suggest you stick to the default settings.

Anytime upgrade only opens up the features, from version to version, do in 10 Mins.
