Upgrading computer

I have a Dell 545s it has a intel core 2 duo 7gb ram and hard drive is 650 i want it to get upgraded my computer shop recommended amd fx6200 32gb ram i think 1000tb or 2000tb harddrive L3 cache because i have L2 cache now and a graphics card nvidia geforce are these good? i use xsplit and my computer can't handle 1920x1080 resolution quality 1080p but its fine with 720p 1280x720

Without upgrading the motherboard you won't be able to add the AMD FX6200 as the socket type is different (the FX6200 is AM3+ whereas your motherboard appears to LGA775), and that motherboard (Dell 0N826N) only supports up to 8GB DDR2 RAM.
You'd also have to find out the wattage of your PSU if you're looking at adding a GPU, from what I can find your machine only has a 250W PSU but I may have that wrong.

The motherboard is being upgraded too and the DDR2 is going to be changed to DDR3

If you're upgrading all of that I'd consider just buying a whole new PC.

This sounds more like a whole new rig. You'll love the added performance but with a budget we can likely make some recommendations to even further improve performance....oh and 32 gb of ram is crazy unless you video edit. Please let us know the expected uses and rough budget, plus any items you want to bring over to the new build?

They told me they will charge $600 yes its supposed to be a new rig the new computers i looked at that had processors similar or i7 processors they were around over $700-$900 i would also have to drive to Tallahassee Florida to get the new pc its an hour drive and sometimes the computers online arent in the store the stores have the bundles for monitor and desktop i also don't like windows 8 and the new computers have windows 8 i watch videos, browse internet, sometimes play games and i use xsplit to stream my graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 i want to stream in 1080p but my current pc can't handle that xsplit told me i need a better processor and graphics card and also when having programs like xsplit and other programs my cpu usage goes over 80%-100% i read on xsplit and support forums thats because i have only 2 cores and cpu drops when i change the resolution to 1280x720

Yes i don't know how to looked at videos still don't know how which is why i'm using my computer shop i've always used and i've been told by others the specs that i'm getting is good

The FX6200 isn't a bad processor if you're buying a system on a budget, and if you're going to be gaming at any sort of high level you'll want to squeeze as much of your budget into the best GPU you can afford. 8GB of RAM would be plenty for gaming, although I've no idea if that Xsplit program would benefit from 16GB.

EDIT: If you're using Xsplit for streaming your gaming it will use your GPU's resources so 8GB RAM should be fine.

This will be my first time using an amd processor the i7 cost more it was $300 or more i was told the amd fx6200 is good it uses 6 cores its closer to an i7 and a little cheaper unless there are processors that's better they also mentioned an amd phenom i also stream anime

The "S" model Dell's (and other brands that use compact cases) use a "TFX" power supply, not the more common ATX style. This limits you with the power supply and to "Low Profile" type expansion cards.

As others have recommended, you will be better off with a new/full size case, that can use the standard ATX power supply, along with other standard components.

They are changing the motherboard is the power supply for the graphics card?the shop mentioned i wouldn't be able to get an i7 and buying a new computer costs more than the upgrade they are close to $1,000 and i don't want to have windows 8 as a operating system i like windows 7 better they already told me in 09 when i bought the dell 545s i saw the dell 545 the larger desktop it had a quas core but the price was $800 and i didn't know if i could change the processor it was a Q6600 i think

The power supply powers everything in the PC. If you're having a dedicated GPU you'll need at least a 450W PSU, maybe higher depending on what GPU you get. That case doesn't lend itself to performance hardware though as it offers little to no cooling, things will get very hot in there. I'd also recommend a decent CPU cooler too, the stock AMD ones aren't the best.

If i buy a new desktop a dell would it work with my current monitor? it would be cheaper if i can buy the desktop by itself but i don't want windows 8 or i could get the shop to build me a pc

I'd opt for the shop to build you a new PC. What is your monitor input? VGA/DVI/HDMI? Check the specs of whichever GPU you choose for compatibility, or post here which one you choose and someone will let you know whether it's compatible or not. Getting Windows 7 onto the machine should not be a problem either, there are a host of places you can buy a copy or license.

the monitor i have uses vga cable what about the Radeon HD 7750 is the fx6200 good or are there better processors? i was told by others i can get a better one for several dollars more

The 7750 does carry a VGA output, but it's not the best card for gaming. Depending on what games you play or intend to play you may have to tone a few settings down.

You can get better processors than the FX6200, it all depends on how much you want to spend on a CPU.

my cable ithat connects to monitor is blue so i think thats vga When casting i want to cast in 1080p the resolution 1920x1080 i can't do now on my pc so i need something that will accomplish that a user from xsplit said i need a better graphics card along with processor to cast in 1920x1080 1080p i can spend a little over $200 but nothing at $300 for processor

For $200 I'd try looking at an i5-3470 CPU. If the games you play aren't very demanding the 7750 would be OK, but I'd think of stretching to at least the 7870 if you can.
