Upgrading from 32 windows 7 to 64 bit windows 7
When I first installed windows 7 I did a clean install as I had XP. Recently, I have upgraded my ram to 4gb. I am wondering can I do another clean install with 64 bit? My main concern is will it take my product key with 64 bit or does it tie my computer to 32 bit somehow?

As far as I know, you are OK. The same key works for both. You can run 32 or 64, but only one of the two.

Ok, so you are saying I can remove one version and install the other? I am assuming you meant that I just could not have both versions installed at the same time.

That's correct. One or the other, not both. Just do a fresh install using the 64 bit disc. It will have to be a clean install, not an upgrade.
