I was wondering if it was possible to buy an upgrade version of Windows 7 and upgrade from the RC. I recently installed a new hard drive in my laptop, and installed the Manufacturers disk with Windows Vista on it. Once it was installed , I promptly installed Windows 7 RC over it, keeping the Vista installation files in windows.old. Will I be able to upgrade to Windows 7 from here or will I have to to a fresh install with the manufacturer's vista OEM and upgrade from that. Or would I be better off just buying the Full install of Windows 7. Very confused

The upgrade version that is onsale pre order is a full install version. All you need to do when installing is to pop in the manufactures disk when asked for it and continue the clean install. As far as can you upgrade from a version of pre RTM 7 I do not know for sure on that. hope this helps you. lm
