Upgrading my Computer

Given my specs, what's the most effective way to improve my computer's performance?

It really depends on what you mean by "performance"? Do you want applications to start up and run quicker? Do you want to play a high-end game that doesn't run well on your existing system? You need to be a little bit more specific about what you mean by improved performance, and also your budget.

In general, I agree with others here. At the moment, you don't appear to stress the system much, so you may want to consider:

1. 2GB or 4GB RAM increase, depending on the available motherboard slots
2. Running your OS and applications off a solid state drive
3. Configuring some relatively cheap mechanical drives in a RAID0 array (perhaps a RAID5 if you want some redundancy)

Golden
