Hello. I have a winfast k8m890m2ma-rs2h motherboard and i want to upgrade my ram to 4 gig.
I dont know if i am able to though, because the infomation on the box and in the manuel doesnt tell me how much ram the motherboard can support. It is an am2 socket board but no where does it say the amount of ram it supports.

I was woundering if anyone has this board and/or knows how much ram this motherboard can support?
Cheers

The two memory sockets will accept two 2 GB DIMMs maximum (Max 4gb).

Google is your friend. Good luck.

here is the link Foxconn K8M890M2MA-RS2H

Btw 4 gigs on 64 bit is not alot. 4 gigs on 32 is. unless you are doing high end video or audio 64 bit wont run any faster.

Good luck

Ken

all you had to do is put your mobo number in google and presto.

XP supports a lot more than 2gb. 32-bit is the limiting factor. Max ram 32-bit is 4gb.

Just type in your motherboard name into google "winfast k8m890m2ma-rs2h motherboard" and I usually add "specs" after the name when looking for specifications to limit the results but you don't need to.

Got your info from here: RAM: Go For 1 GB - Review Tom's Hardware : The $300 PC

Just scroll down to motherboard description and find your info. BTW Ken listed the max for each slot not the total of both together so we actually listed the same thing.

You can try your current key but if it fails (depending on other hardware changes at the same time as MB, try to avoid changing too many things over a short time period) you will probably need to contact Microsoft and tell them you upgraded some hardware but they should help you re-activate.

You might consider filling out your System Specs as it makes it easier when people help you.
