Hi, I am currently dual booting Windows XP and Windows 7 32 bit. They are both installed on the same hard drive. I want to upgrade the 32 bit windows 7 to the 64 bit version. Will that have any affect on XP? I am worried that 7 will remove XP but I am pretty new at dual booting and installing operating systems in general so I am probably wrong. I just want to make sure before I do anything.

Hello xTamx420, welcome to Seven Forums!

You can do a clean install of Windows 7 to the Windows 7 partition and it will not affect XP in any way.

In this tutorial at the link below, be sure to select Custom in step #6.

Then in step #7 be sure to select the correct partition to do the install to using the partition sizes to select the correct one, if you select the wrong one at step #7 it could over-write XP and there will be no correcting for that.
