Upgrading to Windows 7 with XP upgrade

I have a Windows 7 upgrade disk and a XP upgrade disk so is there anyway to install Windows 7 from these two disk and a blank hard drive? I also have a windows 2000 disk.

If you have a Windows 7 Upgrade disk and want to install Windows 7, just install it. You don't need to even use the XP disc.

If you have an XP upgrade license (not the same as an XP upgrade disk), that qualifies for the use of a Win7 upgrade. The normal way to run the upgrade is by launching it from a working qualifying OS. There are other ways, though:

You could violate the license agreement for Win7 if you install an upgrade version without having a qualifying OS (XP, Vista). That's also known as piracy.

I have a legal XP disk so when I put in the Windows 7 I figure it will ask me for the disk so I do Custom and it gives me an error message and wants to install again so when I say upgrade it say re-start and it brings me to a dos prompt with some symbels.

The Windows 7 disc will not ask you for the XP disc, nor its Product Key.

If the hard drive has XP on it, you have to do a clean install rather than an upgrade install.

If there is nothing on the hard drive you care about, you may as well delete all partitions. If necessary, you can use Diskpart to clean existing partitions.

Is your Windows 7 disk a burned disk or bought in a store or what?

The bottem line is I just wanted to know if I had to install XP first. Office you don't. So I just went ahead and installed XP first and my Windows 7 upgrade. It's been a long time since I have done this. I have never upgraded to Windows 7 because I have a full edition. I have upgraded from one OS to other over 1,000 times so if you don't use it you lose it and I have lost it.
