Upgrading Windows 7 System to Windows 10

With the end of life cycle coming in January for Windows 7, I was wondering if anyone had any good tips, when assessing if whether a not a Windows 7 computer is even worth updating to Windows 10.

I work at a business, and currently we have approx. 17 computers using Windows 7 that need to be updated before the January 2020.

Any thoughts, ideas, tips would be great. Thank you.

At the present time it seems you can still update to ten for free so it's a good time to bite the bullet it will get harder to get drivers for 7 as firms won't want to pay ms to use the drivers. Ten is supported for all security updates

One thing to consider with the ongoing "Free" upgrade to Windows 10 ... ... It was only ever made as an offer to private users, Business users were specifically excluded,

Of course if you are using Win 7 Home premium, Professional, or Ultimate at the workplace then these will upgrade for free

Volume license, which is the system for business/corporate use will fail the free upgrade.

Technically, the computers will run with Win 7 as they do today.
The day you buy one new computer to add or replace one at your business, they will come with win 10 as new computers will ONLY run Win 10 (or Linux).
As Barman advised, you can downgrade to Win 10 if you are using Win 7 Home premium, Professional, or Ultimate at the workplace (then these will downgrade for free) (for most of us at this forum, win 10 is a downgrade related to win 7).
Also remember: "The best software is the one you know how to use."

Strongly recommend to backup all user data on a server or external disk before attempting to install win 10.
To install win 10, download Windows 10 from M$, save it to a Flash disk and run setup.exe from running win 7. Select what version to install (Win 7 home or HP = Win 10 home; Win 7 pro or ultimate = Win 10 Pro)
It will take ~two hours to convert from Win 7 to Win 10.
