I was lazy and only posted what I could remember (UPnP Device Host & Server Services). I've used Gibbson's small and fast utilities for a very long time, but wasn't sure if Win7 was supported - looks as though it should be ok to run (Jim & Steve's posts). It's been a long time since I've delved deeper into the explanations on GRC.com, since I used and trusted his stuff for over a decade.
Your post will help everyone understand "more better". There are a lot of services Windows defaults to automatic that are only used in specific environments. Black Viper has a list for Vista configurations and a reg file (min, avg, and default). Again, I'm being lazy here - I haven't checked for a Win7 version, although, the Vista versions would certainly cut down on a lot of unnecessary service loads (even if they do just start, check if needed, and stop)
