So I was finally able to reinstall Windows 7 Pro x64 on my uMBP. Don't know what I did to the previous install, but it was extremely slow at booting which was unacceptable. I was able to reinstall it today and get everything installed. It performed like a champ. Was very satisfied with everything. UNTIL...

There were some files on my desktop that I couldn't delete. It said it was corrupt and unreadable or something like that. I don't remember how the files got there. Multiple reboots wouldn't help allow me to delete them. I also couldn't remove the files in Snow Leopard or Ubuntu, which was really annoying.

SO, I did some searching which led me to do a chkdsk (upon startup). It seemed to have deleted some files and whatnot while it was checking the index of files. It eventually got to 70% of stage 2 when it seemed to have just stopped. CPU usage was as high as possible (fans were out of control) and it was just sitting there on like file 260000 of 280000 (almost done...) for about 10 minutes.

I then did a hard reboot, and was prompted with this:

Yeah, not a pretty site. Did some more searching in Snow Leopard, and didn't find anything that would help (did startup repairs from the DVD, did various bootrec.exe commands, etc). People say that their drive may be failing, which isn't my case, because Ubuntu and SL work just fine.

So, are there ANY POSSIBLE IDEAS on how I could get this fixed? It's weird how a freaking chkdsk would cause this.

I can't even mount my W7 partition in SL or Ubuntu which, I guess, is telling me that the entire partition is screwed. LUCKILY, I have a image of the partition I made yesterday before I reinstalled everything.

Before I go about formatting it, I was just wondering if there was any way of fixing this.

Who moved this thread? I don't think it belongs here, since this problem happens right when the boot of Windows 7 begins... If this thread is moved, then a bunch of others should be moved as well.
