Okay, I just ran a registry cleaner because some things were wrong with it (I used CCleaner), and I have backups, but after that when I click on "Personalization" from the right click I get an error saying "EXPLORER.EXE, no such interface supported" with this giant red and white X to the left of the box. Please help, this is a brandnew computer. I am currently using Windows 7 Ultimate. ...I can only image what will happen if my dad finds out I potentially destroyed my own laptop.

I have to add that when I restore the registry backups it does not help at all.

Just in advanced, thanks

I am afraid I can be of little use. I am not a fan of reg cleaners, but then
you already know that. What is your current goal?

Just this side of fast enough.
Run system restore.

Your bound to have a restore point that dates back to just before you ran CCleaner.

Just run that and you should be fine.

Did you allow CCleaner to backup the registry changes? If so, all that you have to do is double-click the .reg file, to restore the items to the Registry.

That said, I've used the CCleaner reg cleaner feature with no problems. Ever.

Doubt it is CCleaner which I've used for ten years and never had an issue or heard of one from those who use it, which is about all of the pro's.

As stated, your first approach should be to run System Restore to before the problem occurred. If it balks, then boot the System Repair CD (type backup in Start search box to make one) and run it from boot.

Running sfc /scannow will also repair any system files which have been damaged or are missing, or tell you they are irreparable.

Next would be to run a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html?ltr=R using a Win7 installer for your version. You might need to borrow or find one - all versions can be unlocked from any installer.

Finally, you can back up your files and run a full factory Recovery. I would make your Recovery Disk set first (look in manual or browse manufacturer's program files) and then either run the disks or trigger the built in Recovery partition to run full Factory restore.

Of course, if you don't need any of the pre-installed programs on the Factory Recovery, you coudl use a clean-copy installer of your version to clean-reinstall without the facdtory bloatware, activating with the key on the COA sticker on bottom of laptop.

Phew thanks everyone! I did a restore and it works now :P

I thought I was going to die for a minute XD

Now would be the perfect time to consider having a solid backup strategy in place...
I personally prefer and recommend Acronis True Image...but it's not Free...

For a Free app i recommend Macrium Reflect.

Your data is only as safe as your backups.
All OS's screw up...and all HDD's fail...eventually.
