Solved URL instead of Hyperlink

My current Specs are different from what is currently displayed here on SevenForums. Will update them soon.

Here's my question:

Some time ago, I don't remember what OS, Web Browser, or text editing software I was using, but I remember being able to copy webpage text and paste into a text editing software. The webpage would display hyperlinks but when I pasted into the editing software the hyperlink text was pasted as that URL instead of pasting the hyperlink text.

Now, I find myself having to go back to the webpage and copy link address as a separate step for each hyperlink.

Copy and pasting with the editing software displaying the URL instead of the hyperlink text was so much less time consuming.

Is there a way to copy and paste the webpage hyperlink URL instead of the hyperlink text into both notepad and MS Office Word?

Instead of copying this...

"Breakdown of all changes to date: Windows 7 Information Changelog."

I would like to copy this...

"Breakdown of all changes to date: http://www.blackviper.com/category/news/windows-services/"

Copying the Url when I copy the webpage article and not having to go back and forth to copy and paste the url for each hyperlink will be a true time-saver for me.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking in that post...and I'm not exactly sure if I understand what url's and hyperlinks are.

My understanding, URL is the web address that is in the address bar of a web browser when visiting that URL. The hyperlink is a URL encoded into a body of text and the reader doesn't see the URL but is able to see that one or more words of the conversation on a webpage is actually a link to a web address, thus a "hyperlink".

I ask how because I remember being able to but I don't remember the settings or even if it is possible anymore.

I'm not asking how to use hyperlinks. I'm asking how to copy and paste only once instead of once plus every time a hyperlink is used. I would like to know how to copy the hyperlink and paste the url and not the hyperlink into notepad or excel or other text editing software.

I remember it being done before but I don't remember the configurations and the internet doesn't reveal a whole lot on how to copy hyperlink but paste url on the first attempt to copy and paste.

Webpages that say things like, "If you still can't get on the internet then download this tool and run it then restart your pc and see if that corrects the problem. Then, if that doesn't work then download this or do that and restart you pc and see if that works." Well, guess what...if you don't copy and paste that whole tutorial and all of the url's in that tutorial (not just the words where the url is "hidden") then you're just gonna find yourself at a dead end looking for that same tutorial later because you didn't get the url's in that tutorial.

I'm wanting to copy and paste once...maybe twice...but not 15 or 20 times just to get the full tutorial and all the url's that may be hidden behind the words of the tutorial.

Where do you need to do this?

If it's one these forums I can explain how to achieve your aims, however if it's for some application or other website you may need help from the application help or webmaster

On these forums, you can simply uncheck the option at the bottom of the editor

"Automatically parse links in text"

alternatively you can stop a specific link being parsed using the code link address

for example the URL of this page displays as ... https://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-mail/421819-url-instead-hyperlink.html#post3454448

and not https://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-mail/421819-url-instead-hyperlink.html#post3454448

On his pages he uses hyperlink.

In January Microsoft is discontinuing all support and updates for Windows 7. I believe that with that move, the "at-home" consumer is going to start facing out-of-date technology issues much like what we face with using DOS, 3.1, 95. Technology today seems to have just abandoned the original operating systems.

With that in mind, I performed a google search for how to configure Windows 10 to look, feel, and work like Windows 7. The most detailed tutorials all use hyperlinks. Some of them have up to 20 hyperlinks in the article. I found myself going back and forth 21 to 24 times just to get all the links and tut steps. It's a time eater doing that.

I would like to know how to switch from hyperlink to url and back. It would be a faster way for me of doing things.

Good suggestion there, but i indeed do that however i take it a step further because I can't access the internet all the time. I am sometimes at a location where there is no internet and so I save things to flashdrives for later accessing. when I performed a clean install on my fiance's pc. there were no drivers installed for the network and ethernet adapters.

Had I not saved those drivers and tutorials to a flash drive...I would've been stuck until I could get at least the drivers saved to a flashdrive.

WyattWhiteEagle,
For others with similar issues, what worked?

After double-checking on my own internet footprint, I learned that I was able to do what my original post mentions while on Windows ME on another pc, and that technologies has advanced past that making it a thing of the past.

Those three links are the closest thing to what I was looking for.

Thanks to everyone here for the help. It is very much appreciated :)
