USB 3.0 Very Slow...

Hi,

Is this normal for USB 3.0 to be this slow copying 11.1GB's of Music to a Sandisk Cruzer Swith Memory Stick ???

My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R which supports USB 3.0.

Doe's anybody have any ideas ???

Is the Sandisk Drive USB 3.0 compatible? If it's not, then it will be running in usb 2.0 mode which is that slow.

Device has to be USB 3.0 aswell.

Not to sure as it has Red on the end, and I know USB 3.0 is Blue. I've heared it can be Red aswell unless it's a load of bull...

The main thing about sticks you need to know the specs, read and write speed , that how you can tell how good it can be

Don't believe those sticks are USB 3.0. they are usb 2.0 only. And the larger the sticks, usually the slower the write speeds.

Sandisk USB sticks always have red ends, so in this case, the key having a red plug does not mean that they're USB 3.0. I know for a fact that they are USB 2.0. I can say this with the fact that I have a 16GB Cruzer and a 32GB Cruzer Edge. Both have red ends and both are USB 2.0.

It is most likely your USB key is USB 2.0 and that would mean your USB 3.0 port is running in 2.0 mode.
