Interesting. My board doesn't support it so I'm looking for a pci card but can't find many USB 3 drives to connect to it.

I also read an article that AMD will release a 800 Series chip set later this month that will support USB 3.0 and that Intel may release a PCIe card to support USB 3.0 to compete with the NEC card. I don't need any more external gadgets right now so can't justify updating to USB 3.0 just jet.

It would be interesting to see how that compares to an internal Sata and an eSata. That would gives us a better feeling of what that means in real life. Looks like we are scheduled for new investments.

The graph for the WD drive also shows an eSata drive. (Yellow). If you read the article it indicates that the WD USB 3.0 and the NetDisk are both WD Cavier Green drives. They may have done something right with USB 3.0.

I just installed an ASUS U3S6 PCIe x4 card with two internal SATA III and two external USB 3. Have not tested performance as I just got it to get my SATA II SSD off my motherboard; they did not cooperate well. This card is quite inexpensive.
