A higher-wattage variation of USB means you could use it to charge your laptop, not just your phone. The first devices supporting the standard could arrive this year.
If the usb hub used here while charging the cell and bluetooth headset and ear piece having both onhand had a little more umph under the hood one side of the hub wouldn't have given out when using usb over the ac adapter to charge the phone! It was a shame since the 4 port hub is generally the reliable type over other cheapos!
USB 3.0 over 2.0 does offer a slight increase in microamps to start with but still not adequate when considering the draw seen when going to charge any external device. Since most everything these days will see the option to charge by usb this would be a move in the right direction providing a newer bus that can handle the pull seen when charging devices especially the battery in a laptop would also tend to be a heavy draw.
