Everytime I plug in A usb card reader, it doesn't work. I've tried every usb hub on my computer Everything was working fin three days ago. Then it just stopped. When I plug one in it says "usb device not recognized". They all work fine on other computers. When I look in device manger under USB contollers it says "Unknown Device". When I look under device status it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" I don't understand why its not working, I used it just the other day. Oh, and I plugged a flash drive into the same port and it worked.

If the USB card reader was working on the subject PC before, and now it does not, that would indicate a corrupted driver or driver conflict.

Did you install anything new in the last 3 days?

You could try doing a System Restore to a point 3 or 4 days ago whe the reader worked.

TVeblen is right. Code 43 is usually an indication of a driver problem (mostly for graphic cards but also for USB devices). I suggest you uninstall the driver and reboot. Maybe it finds a better one.

The only thing I can installed of is Google Chrome. That wouldn't mess with the drivers would it?

It's not necessarily that anything you loaded is causing the driver failure, but rather the driver has become corrupted. Try removing the device in Control Panel then shutting the PC down and Cold Booting which will have a fresh instance of the driver loaded by W7.
